I think you missed the area I mention about being light for there
sizes. If you was expecting a car the size of a GC in 2010+ to be 2800 lbs you must be crazy. A 128i weighs 3270 lbs but looks much lighter than a GC from the outside.
Also it's not 2,740 lbs. Subaru the company has stated 2,765 lbs with a full tank of gas(curb weight). What you saw was a car with 3/4 of gas in it.
