So I happen to come across the local Toyota general manager at my work today. I told him I was interested in a buying a Scion FR-S and jokingly said, "I'd get one if you give me a deal on it." And he said, "Scion has PurePrice so there are no deals." And then I said, "Well, I'd at least have to thoroughly test drive it first to make sure it's worth it for me." And he said, "We don't let anyone test drive the FR-S by themselves because it's a sports car. We only allow limited test drives with our sales people."
So basically, there's no way in hell I'm going to buy from them. This is why I hate dealerships. I refuse to give my money to people like that. It's not even about the discounts... if they were willing to respect me, trust me, and get me what I want, I'd feel alright about paying a little extra.
I used to work for a Mitsubishi dealership and was in charge of the Evo's. So I'm pretty sure I'm not going to hurt your $25,000, slow-ass, mass production "sports car." And what's ironic is that I've actually seen their own freaking sales people spin the tires and hit the rev limiter and ding the doors and let it idle for a very long time in these brand new cars! So... it's ok for their sales people to abuse it but it's not ok for a potential customer to drive it around for an extra hour or so? Ugh... f'ing retarded man.
This seriously makes me consider just going with a Subaru BRZ. I've had much better luck with the Subaru dealers and could save a lot of money.
