So, terrible news. One of the bleeder bolts totally stripped, and it stripped in a fantastic way. The bot was so heated, that when it stripped, it turned into a bullet wound. Machine shop now says they will probably have to drill press it, cannot guarantee the threads will be salvageable and may need to over side it, put in a sleeve and do other work to make a bleeder usable.
So basically, I have one messed up bleeder plug, could cost me over $300 to fix (yay Regina Canada for not having more machine shops to promote lower costs....). Do I just leave it? The other bleeder swapped over fine, the other caliper is good to go. should I just leave it as is and remove the caliper when I need to bleed the system (we don't do that often, right?) or should I hunt for a new caliper?
Opinions, thoughts?
