I've driven both, while the automatic is nice and does a decent job of impersonating a true flappy paddle gearbox, this car is meant to be had in a proper manual transmission. Do yourself a favor and get one in a manual. I did and have no regrets. Hold your head high knowing you are doing your part to keep alive a dying skill and option!
