Yeah it is intimidating to go all the way to the edge. I found a good way to get comfortable being there is to go all the way to the edge on the first and last laps, when you're warming up/cooling down and driving a little slower (also works when you're following someone who's slower). Then as the session goes on and you gain speed, you'll be more comfortable knowing where you need to be.

Also, I think I just watch too much Formula 1. When I talk racing it's kerbs and paddock lol
