Just because it's a snell rating doesn't mean it's accepted. I know of a couple local organizations that require SA rated helmets, not just any snell rating.
Some of the key differences are here, but the most important is the multi impact rating that comes with an SA rated helmet. If you hit the roof, pillar or roll bar once with an M rated helmet it's no good. An SA rated helmet will take multiple hits without issue.
