I hate these things. 802.11b, 802.11g, 802.11n, 802.11ac, 2.4GHz, 5GHz, and the fact that certain devices use different combinations, and different routers better utilize certain combinations. It sucks because you can't simply buy the newest or most expensive one and it will work.

All I know is that I have my PC, a work laptop, I have a Samsung galaxy S3, a smart TV, my family has iPhones, and I game on a PS3, PS4, and an Xbox One. A primary concern is the ability to stream NHL Gamecenter on my PS4 as smooth as possible, and gaming with a good connection.

I'm thinking the ASUS RT-N66U might be my best bet. If any of you are advanced in this area, let me know what my best options are. Looking to spend ~$150 I suppose. I'm sure an 802.11ac router is unnecessary for me.

I love ASUS products. I have not used the routers, but my friends say they are great. I'm waiting on the Linksys WRT1900AC.... but that's just the geek in me talking
