Okay I had a feeling haha. It sounds normal to me also, but I wasn't sure. I don't know too much about transmissions but I feel like it may have to do with the throwout bearing/pressure plate functions. I listened with a long funnel and it sounds much louder down by the transmission.

I'm not really sure, but it sounds louder than normal. Once I get home tonight, I will check to see if my car makes the same noise with the hood popped open.
