That sucks. It almost happened to me. I was at a dead stop, and girl in an SUV almost nailed me going 30+ mph. She swerved and cut someone off. I went on a rollercoaster of horror-relief-disbelief looking into my rearview mirror when the SUV missed, but a Civic going the same speed appeared right behind her.
Guess I can't really complain. Just gotta hope my repair ends up looking as good as OP's did.
