With all the "snake oil" products on the market, Seafoam is one of the only products I've seen old-timers and knowledgeable people say actually works.

It has many uses, as a gas and oil stabilizer for storage, engine and trans cleaner (I read about people adding it just before rebuilding or working on stuff because it cleans everything so well). It also works to soften and remove carbon on valves and combustion chambers.

It does work.

That said, I wouldn't use it on my new car personally.
