I would guess with low over hang, like the one in Mini Cooper or Scion iQ (?), having a higher COG may not be that bad as long as your COG stays within the tire track. However, with many front-heavy FWD where the engine is place forward than the front axle, the COG will shift out of the track once you do a hard-braking. But, that is my guess.
