The OD should be the same but with a bigger ID to accept the bigger 2.5" pipe

Your quote described it exactly. Factory donut gasket appears to be 2.25" ID, i need a gasket with a 2.5" ID to fit the front pipe. Since JDL does not sell or provide gaskets i'm trying to find out what gasket will fit.
