Seeing how they're attempting to follow the Miata's design philosophy, but make it a more practical/aesthetically pleasing package, it might do okay.

I think with sports cars the 30k-60k range is probably the best selling since people who have cash to dump on a second car would rather dump it on something with more perceived status. I see more Porsches than I see Miatas...
