I can confirm - I did this today. I had 4 225/40/18 tires and 4 18x8 rims packed into my car on the way to the tire shop. It was a jigsaw puzzle!!!
I had 2 tires in the passenger seat, 1 tire hangin over the passenger seat, with headrest removed and 1 tire laying diagonal against the tire hanger over it. Then I had 2 rims stacked on top of one another behind the drivers seat and 2 rims in the trunk area. It took me a few mins to place all of this into the car...
In comparison - putting the 4 stock wheels, with OEM tires back into the car was a breeze... can easily fit them in a number of ways.
