Carbon ceramic brakes are not very good for day to day use. They are, however, incredibly awesome on high performance applications. The statement, "warming up your brakes," is pretty important for them to work well. There are only a few brake pad compounds that are compatible with carbon ceramic rotors and are essential to maintaining the life of the rotor. On top of that, brake pads are still a huge function of what type of driving you will be doing.
