Some styling cues from the FT-HS made its way onto FT-1. But the two are not really the same car. The start date for FT-1 officially began on March 2012.
If anything, FT-HS is closer to the size of the twins. And depending on who you talk to at Toyota, they will say FT-HS is a very early blue print for the twins.
But I think FT-HS previewed both the twins and FT-1. Like how the Lexus LF-CC previewed both the IS sedan and RC coupe.
