Well it's not specifically the tire, it's the wheel and tire combo. 18x9.5 with 255s is pretty big. I'm not a fitment guru, but I'd resist the temptation to go that big anyway.

The rims havent been bought yet, I am completely willing to get away from the whole huge wheel small profile tire, as long as the car still looks good and performes to my expectations, best of both worlds...

Its cheaper to get 17x9 anyway

As a newbie to suspension i had no idea firm and stiff werent interchangable. Duely noted.

Still trying to find people in my area who have an aftermarket suspension on their 86 to ride.

So basically a proper suspension should be comfortable in everyday driving conditions, but with emergency sudden handling or a flick of the throttle, turns into a porsche car like feeling firmness and control. Am i getting this right?

Honestly i feel like i have been blind folded then spun around and asked to pin the tail on the jackass lol

Interestingly enough I was planning on doing some autocross and HPDE days to get the feel of the car at its absolute limit.
Go for some rides and do an auto-x.
