Just reading through the instructions it looks like main difference that Adapter (item 1). The adapter looks like it fits over the knuckle at the base of the shift lever, and extends the connection to the shift control shaft downwards. I'm not entirely sure how this results in an appreciable reduction in shift throw, but I'll know more once I start taking it apart.
As far as the rear mounting bracket, it's hard to tell in these pictures, but looks pretty much the same.
Will know more this weekend.
