Only reason Im asking is I need to know how to prep my car.
Since I have a bunch of stuff olanned for my car, I dont see it as a huge benefit to prep my car to class rules unless I get at least 3 timed sessions (2 besides the first session).
If you are fastest in group one, thats great - I have always found tracks to be green first thing in the morning. Or wet. Or whatever.
But then again, im the new guy, so I dont expect the rules tweaked in my favor.
Im happy to just do the trackd ays without being part of the 86 cup also.
So either way is good but I would prefer to know which way to go..

NorCal is following suit with SoCal's rules. Granted, the first session is a gimme for newbs - to get familiar with the track and environment. But I'm sure I can collect the fastest times from all of the participants in the sessions being timed. Last session won't be timed for the sake of admin stuff, gathering to announce the winners, and clean up for those not die-hard into tracking. I also like the fact to assist our track organizers (NCRC) without having to do all that we need them to do at the end of the last session and for the participants to not stay any longer in the evening.
By chance if an experienced driver produces his/her fastest time in the first session, then that's collected. As the transponders will be given out before the track goes hot.
