Not sure about the state he lives in but in MD its 70% of the value. I have my own body shop. I'm pretty familiar with what it takes. If they totalled every new car hit like that we would have no work. Its really not that bad of a job when being looked at by someone who does it for a living. It just looks really bad to people who are not sure what it takes to repair it
