I have actually covered my Intake and air box in heat reflective aluminum tape. This has reduced the difference between ambient and IAT by 50% ie I now rarely see over 9 C difference in traffic in summer and it recovers to 2 to 5 degrees quite quickly. Also removed the plastic piece on underside of bonnet on drivers side (couple of plastic clips) to let heat out at low speeds.

Will send the before/after data logs when I find them.

Your IATs look similar to mine (QLD), I'm sure that much heat is not good if we can do without. How much foil did the airbox need and which plastic did you remove?
