Check out Bourbon street, Jackson Square, and the French Market. Sit and watch the break dancer's (Dragon Master Showcase) at the gray stairs straight across from Jackson Square, and absolutely check out Cafe Du Monde and have some of their outstanding beignets (french doughnut). The Audubon zoo and Aquarium of the Americas is worth checking out. River boat ride is pretty sweet too.

On the corner of Bourbon St. and Saint Phillips you'll find our country's oldest bar, John Lafitte's blacksmith shop. Go check out Pat O'Briens and have their world famous Hurricane and chill in their dueling piano bar . Stop by Tropical Isle and get a Hand Grenade (frozen or on the rocks). Spirits on Bourbon has an amazing drink called The Resurrection (frozen or on the rocks) I suggest rocks.

As far as food goes. If you like steak, La Boca is amazing! Jackson Brewery has pretty good food as well. Hard to go wrong with any place serving Louisiana cuisine. Just be sure you have you GPS. Keep your phone charged as best you can and Google map the places I mentioned while on foot. Walking is the best way to travel if you are in the areas I've mentioned. Trying to get a parking spot will be a nightmare or expensive. Definitely use the valet service at the hotel you're staying in offers it. The trolley cars are very convenient too (cash only) @iff2mastamatt MOST IMPORTANT, at night stay in crowed areas. No dark allies.
