The assumed but inconclusive benefit would be lower intake air temperatures (more consistent power) as a result of no longer having hot coolant flowing through the throttle body, heating it and the air passing through it. The effect would be most noticeable/measurable when driving at higher speeds and there's plenty of air getting around the engine bay.
The disadvantage would be the TB could freeze up if you drive in a very cold climate.
