I'd love to hear more of your thoughts on the ZIIs. I was about to pull the trigger on buying some.
My thoughts on tires thus far, please add input where I could be wrong...
RS3s: Great grip when hot (~180*F) but soft sidewalls makes them less than optimal for camber challenged cars. My own experience is that I had to run them at 40psi just to keep off the sidewalls on the front.
Rivals: Great tire every where but at Lincoln, the one place it matters most.
ZIIs: Don't require as much heat as the RS3s and have much stiffer sidewalls making them better on cars with less than optimal camber. Good on the surface at Lincoln
That is how I came to the decision to run the ZIIs this year. Temp problems on hot days can be, at least partially, remedied with a water sprayer. I have always felt like it is easier to get heat out of the tires between runs than to get heat in them.
I would love to hear some more thoughts on the subject since there doesn't seem to be a clear choice for CS this year, at least not on this board.
