yea, high maintenance costs, weak/sensitive electronic components, and not very diy friendly on many levels...

one huge advantage of the bmw is it's safety, which is obviously a huge factor however way you look at it... got rear ended by a lady driving a tahoe on the freeway on-ramp in the e39, she was going somewhere between 20-40mph... car was totaled, but good thing it was in the bmw...
