Well, depends on the Subaru. The automatics with VTD are better than the manual trans equipped cars
except for the STI which has LSD front and rear along with that trick center diff. In general the Subaru drivetrain layout itself is superior to any transverse engine AWD layout (e.g. Audi Haldex stuff, but
not quattro).
