nyc would be awesome, but for those coming from out of state and planning on staying hotels might be expensive along with going in and out of the city if they want to stay in surrounding area. not to mention roads and traffic aren't ideal.
nj would be perfect. whether you're in south, central, or north, there's a good venue. hotels are cheaper than a major city. there's plenty to do with nyc, ac, and philly relatively close.

But this isn't a NE meet. People should expect to drive for a once a year event like this. I help plan a yearly event for another vehicle and it has NEVER been close to me. 9-10 hour drive has been the closest. We've had people fly over from Japan and Europe. :shrug:
