If you are already in the engine, you might as well do the heads. I replaced the water pump, timing belt, pulled the heads (Stage II PnP) and also went with the GSC S2s mated with the Beehive springs. Heads are fully built along with the bottom end. Don't forget about the billet modified oil pump, billet tensioner, and damper. I went with an ATI super damper crank pulley. I have the V160 6-speed trans with a ATS triple carbon clutch. Still trying to decide on the rear-end and the DS will of course come from the Driveshaft shop. More details will be in my build thread which will be created once I drop the engine in.

Which intake manifold are you going with slicktop? I went with a Virtual Works with a 90mm TB.

If you or anyone else needs some help/advice with a 2JZ build, please give me a shout. I would be glad to help.

You can always swap out the oil pans if need be.

2JZ Front sump oil pan VS. 2JZ Rear sump
Always great to hear from another guy doing the swap! My motor was dropped off yesterday at the machine shop.

Preliminary details:

10:1 CP Pistons
Carrillo H-beam rods w/ CARR bolts
Pro-Gram mains
ARP fasteners all around
GSC S2
GSC Beehive w/ Ti retainers
GSC Valve guides
GSC Valves (stock size)
GSC VSS

I'm sticking with stock throttle body at the moment because I know it can support four digits. I have the PHR modded oil pump and MVP billet tensioner w/ Gates belt. There's a possibility of some more stuff happening but it's up in the air at the moment.

I'm going with a custom rear end setup. No details on that yet, but I'll definitely keep you in the loop!
