Well, @CoupedUpSubie, you're correct in that a person under 18 cannot take out a loan for an automobile from most lending institutions.

However, I maintain that in certain states, a person of any age, can own personal property, such as an automobile.

Granted, a person of any age may not be able to register or license or insure a vehicle ...... but they can "own it".

For example, when I was age 14, back in Ohio, my grandfather "willed" me his old 1948 Chevrolet. Nope, I couldn't license it, nor could I register it, nor could I insure it, so, I couldn't drive it on the highway.

HOWEVER, I drove the hell out of it around the farm ....
