How do these things handle and drive? The nearest one is a decent ways away so I'm wondering if it'd be worth it to take the top to dive it.

The FR-S and the Camaro were on my short list in 2012 (wow, has it really been 2 years already?).
As I've said else here, my proud redneck upbringings means I love the Camaro (I'm from NC where the state tree is a telephone pole with a Camaro wrapped around it)
I also love small sports cars....
At the end of the day, I ended up with the FR-S for the following reasons, in no particular order:
- Price. The FR-S I wanted was $25K. The Camaro I wanted was closer to $40K, and really if I was honest was >$50K.
- Economy. The FR-S is a better daily driver if you drive 80 to 100 miles a day on average (which I do)
- Drivability. I can drive the FR-S at 80% all day and never get a ticket. The Camaro, maybe 20% on a good day. With two <25 year old sons on my insurance, I don't need tickets!
- And, if I'm honest, the First86 contest. I'm not sure I would have ended up with the FR-S had I not been in that program. My DD died right after the Long Beach trip. I ended up waiting for the FR-S to replace it. Had it died, and I was not in the program, I would have left the Chevy dealer that day with a Camaro ZL1 they had on the lot.
Chevy didn't do themselves any favors with the way the package options either. For example, I needed height adjustable seats because MomHawk could not see out of either car when the seats were in the "native position". In the Camaro at the time, you could only get height adjustable seats once you moved up two "comfort levels".
I can also tell you that if I was in the market today under the same situation, I would have not bought either. I would have purchased a bottom-end C7 Corvette.
All that said, I do not regret my decision at all.
