My wife is pregnant with our first child, and our daughter is due March 30th. We've been hard at work putting together a nursery. The room started off as our "office" Translation: two desks piles high with paperwork and accumulated debris, random storage room really.
We emptied the room, repaired the swiss cheese walls, repainted, put of crown molding, replaced the baseboard surrounds, replaced the ceiling light and door hardware, added window treatments and furniture. We just finished with 6 weeks to spare and very happy with how it's turned out.
Here's what the room looked like after we started, I had just fill the holes in the walls. Also, when I bought the house there was an ugly dingy yellow carpet on the floor.
After a coat of primer.
New wall color called "Irish Cream"
New trim color "Indulgence"
Ceiling light and crown molding
And the finished room
I still want to replace the plain hollow core doors, but that's a whole house thing.
