Such a personal question considering your interests could be in handling, power, sound, aesthetics. If you're not looking to break loose the rear end I'd put that $1000 into wider wheels (used), and new tires. A catback isn't going to give you any performance by itself. If you want more power look at getting new headers without a cat and then front pipe and catback (overpipe too). If you like how the car handles and moves but just want to make it look and sound better then get a catback, tint, and save up for some new wheels and tires.
