When I purchased my 2012 sport tech STI I had the first one in Calgary. The salesmen at centaur were telling my friends (who were all just dying to get one themselves) that the 2012 wasn't available yet (in October 2011) - despite me already driving one. This seemed a little deceptive to me and I've never considered making a sale at Centaur because of this.
On the other hand, I will not let Subaru Calgary service department touch my cars - and they know this. Every single time my STI went into their shop they did something wrong - and I gave them several chances (eg. re-installing a rear sway bar upside down). The last straw was dash cam footage of 15 minutes work being performed on a simple axle inspection and being charged $115 for the car sitting on the hoist for 45 minutes. Centaur's service manager David Vincent has taken his micro-managing techniques to Subaru Calgary and now I'm sure that service department is a simmering pool of oppressed unhappiness as well as sloppy. On the other hand, when I asked Centaur to diagnose the same axle problem they squeezed my job in at a moments notice and didn't charge me for it. Of course, I bought them a block of beer to say thanks.
TL;DR - Subaru Calgary for sales, Centaur for OEM service. VEX Performance for anything performance related (I know, I never mentioned them)
I wonder if you're the young salesman I was talking to at Centaur when I brought the car in for the axle inspection? I had the WRB STI sedan with gold wheels. I'm a newbie here myself, but welcome. See also the FB page. https://www.facebook.com/groups/225068227621393/

I've had bad experiences with sales at Calgary Subaru a number of times now, which is why I haven't bought a car from them and the last two Subarus my family has bought have been from Centaur. I haven't even gotten past the main salespeople at Calgary Subaru ive been so frustrated ive just left in the past. Parts seem good at both dealers, ive used Calgary Subaru more and they have been good to deal with. My dad has only dealt with Calgary Subaru and Don Docksteader Subaru in Vancouver for service, and both experiences where pretty average to slightly below average, I will probably take my BRZ to Centaur in a few months to look at a few issues I have, and will avoid Calgary Subaru altogether for everything from now on.
