Yes. It seems that usually the plate leaks. This is fairly easy to fix by sealing the plate again with liquid casket.
There are also few cases described earlier in this thread that the oil leaks from cylinder head cover gasket and rear camshaft caps.
These two leak routes are connected because the plate plugs the upper (intake) right rear camshaft cap.
The symptoms are same for both leak origins: oil spilled to exhaust causing burning oil smell.
I seem to have the latter problem on both sides (left/right) of the engine.
In my earlier post I wrote that leak on my car seemed to come under camshaft housing, but I checked my engine once more today using inspection mirror and came to a conclusion that oil comes from the camshaft caps and cylinder head cover gasket.
I'm eager to see the Subaru TSB that I mentioned above because it might contain instructions to fix this more complicated oil leak that my car has.
