I can't recall any concept car that's been promoted as the FT has that didn't make it into production fairly close to the concept version.
I'll be more likely to believe this rumor if I see a memo from Toyota.

One note, Gran Turismo got nothing to do w it. iirc, GT4 they had GT-R R35 Concept w NA v8, but in the end Nissan went w v6 twin turbo w few different changes was made on the design.
Other than that, I totally agree.
