That sounds just silly! Surely you're not concerned with making your car faster if you are putting 19" "anchors" on it? 18's are perhaps a better / lighter choice. As for slide concerns, it's tire width, not diameter that makes all the difference..in your case.

Also, if you're adding power, you'll likely need tire width to get that power (traction) down. Bear in mind that a tire that's "too wide" will not fair well in the snow...if that's a possibility in your location. I only have my FRS, so I must choose wisely.
