With a sub 86 car in the works the next gen 86/FR-S could move up class abit.

Sub 86 car $20k or less
FR-S could end up being a $30k car
FT-1 could have a base model at $50k and than have a higher trim at $60k.

$25k-$30k isn't that big of a price gap to a $50k-$60k FT-1. I mean Nissan has even a bigger price gap between the 370z and GT-R.
30 to 50 is more reasonable. But they will need to make some changes to justify 30s for the 86.

Way, way back, they did Corolla (pre-AE86 SR5), Celica, then Celica-Supra.

With the 86 filling the Celica middle position, the Supra on its way and maybe the entry level coming it makes sense. But in this case I can't see the Supra being in the same performance class as the Mk 3 and 4 of their era given the performance of current GTR and Vette. Although they now have performance precedence in Lexus with the LFA and ISF.

What Toyota has also shown us is that they are trying to shake up brand perceptions, to I wouldn't be surprised if they reserved the highest performance model for Lexus.

Also consider that their last GT500 entry was a Lexus SC.

We will see, I guess.
