IMO only, the first looks like the rear end is dirty, and the second to me makes my eye miss the dark part and makes it look like the rear is squished upwards as if it got rear ended.

As far as the neither" request I think that it is valid as some may not like either of the ideas. This answer may make me re-think my idea.
But as the quote above says it is your car and if you like a certain look go for it and FEBE!
