I literally time it so my car is running on 93 fumes as it's pulling up to the pump and drive it conservatively for the first 2-3 gallons. I'll usually cycle a couple tanks too. That's the only annoying part for me other than the distance, is having to calculate the perfect time to go get e85. I don't like mixing fuels too often.
