Just like your opinion, your numbers are off.

Try 336,180. That's the number of Civics sold in the US for 2013.

Meanwhile, 8,587 Subaru BRZ's were sold in 2013.

Maybe in rice world San Diego SI's are hip, but in the rest of the country they are just another Civic, a joyless FWD econ o-box family sedan. BTW, I was born and raised in San Diego, so I'm very familiar with its rice scene.
