I can confirm from reliable TMCA stock control sources that the OP is correct. Toyota Australia have scaled down their production requests from the factory for 2014.

There are quite a few 86's on soil across Australia, and most of the build requests sent through in the last few months have been Dealer Stock Orders aka "DOSI's" and not Customer Orders (build requests with customer name's already against them, which prioritizes the build over a dosi). No huge concern unless the interest in the vehicles spikes again, but realistically they are just going to scale down to meet current demands, also by keeping the supply versus demand biased towards to manufacturer and not the customer, it allows the dealers to continue selling the vehicles for as close to RRP as possible and maintaining healthy gross profit, whilst making next to nothing on most other models.
