A coffee cup? Really???? There is no reason for anyone at a dealer or any shop to have any drink inside a customer car! That is so unprofessional!
It probably won't do anything but if I were you I would be calling the factory and reporting all of this about that dealer. Hopefully they would bust their ass so maybe they will straighten up so the next guy doesn't have to go through what you did.
I would take off the mudguards and clean everything real good. The salt that was there is now in the bolt holes and it won't be long before the rust starts, then you will have a big mess to get fixed.
