I think the back straight is in the ~ 90 mph range, but I can't remember for sure (its been almost 2 years since I was there). I am still curious which set you would choose and why, but after sleeping on it I think I have a plan.
If I put the beefy wheels on, I would feel compelled to put better brake fluid in. I am fairly sure I won't boil the fluid on stock tires, but I COULD on the RS3s...I think.
After adding up all the pros and cons, I think I will keep the factory oil fill (this time) and in the interest of not taxing the motor too much (and not really having time, or feeling like bleeding my whole brake system tonight) I will go with the stock wheels. I will bring better fluid to the track anyway and if it becomes a problem, I will bleed them then.
The weather is predicting ice tomorrow, so all of Houston may be shut down (aint nobody here got winter tires)...so I might get bored tomorrow and do it anyway.

You'll *probably* be faster with the skinnier tires, because the straights are so long. I can't say 100% until I have data, but I would start by trying 225. The only courses I've seen where wider is faster NA is a really tight course like Streets of Willow Springs (try it on GT6)
