If you're gonna be running just for fun, it won't matter. You'll be hopelessly under-prepared for either class. I'd look at participation and see which class you'd have more people to run with so that you have some benchmark.
In STX you'd probably be a set of proper wheels/tires away from being in the running for an occasional trophy, locally.
I don't think CSP has been well-attended locally in recent years. A couple of well-prepared NB Miatas, might change this year, time will tell.
