They want the car because its an awesome car. But they don't want it because the badge drop kicks their ego right in the nuts and they will feel like a pitiful peon driving an inferior vehicle.
They should honestly just rebadge it as a Lexus because the irony of the whole thing is that the Toyota badge is also not a 'cool' brand. At least Lexus is a luxury brand and is always in the conversation with the german big 3. Toyota on the other hand is the epitome of vanilla appliance. Is your Toyota 86 an appliance?
