All new Subarus and the FRS need the 2nd bypasses to klone the encrypted code and send the code through the viper to open door / unlock door . You did the Viper install correctly. Get the 2nd bypass, flash the door lock firmware hook it up to your Viper 5704 and you good to go.

As far as disabling the OEM secruity feature you would need to ask the dealer to do this. I dont know if they can even do this or solve your problem.

I'll correct some incorrect information, you don't NEED 2 bypasses for the remote start. You only NEED 1. The job becomes 100x easier with 2 as you then need to connect fewer wires and the majority of commands can be sent via data with the 2 bypass modules.

The vehicle is NOT looking for any code from an encrypted key when the doors are locked or unlocked and there isn't a factory alarm on these cars. There's a factory anti-theft immobilizer which only goes into effect if someone attempts to start the car without a coded key. The code from the key is passed to the transponder amplifier, if it doesn't match what's stored, the car will not start.

If you want to use only 1 bypass, which would be the one for the immobilizer such that the info for the key is passed to the transponder amplifier allowing the vehicle to remote start, you'll need to go wire-to-wire for the other connections in the car that the 2nd bypass would've done. These functions include: lock and unlock, factory arm and disarm, trunk output, brake, e-brake and tachometer.

When he installed his Viper, he used lock and unlock, which is fine but neglected to use the arm & disarm which would be green/white and green/black off the Viper auxiliary harness. Those wires have to be used to keep the car from thinking that the owner just forgot to lock me so I'll lock myself.

Once again, a complete remote start, keyless entry and alarm in these cars takes only 1 bypass and the rest can be done pretty easily. However, 2 bypasses makes the job 100x easier by passing nearly all commands using data.

On a manual transmission car there are a few more connections. A manual car will need a hard wired connection to the parking brake, foot brake, tachometer, hood pin and a relay to interface with the clutch for remote start purposes (or skip the clutch and connect to the neutral safety wire).
