To bring light into the dark: The headline is bullshit. Tetsuya Tada only said the 86 is constructed to be compatible as a roadster. That's no new info and that's no confirmation a roadster is planed. This magazine often bends the truth to get some attention.
manufacturers don't spend money developing a chassis to be a convertible unless they plan to build one. development isn't cheap so they wouldn't waste the money.

I'm fine with them building a convertible but this is like the worst news possible for me. it is highly unlikely they will release a convertible and a FI model in the same year so that means we may be 2 years from an sti version if they follow the standard release the coupe and then the convertible a year later.
