Just had to argue with the lead technician. Again they told me the chirping is normal and my VIN has the newest pump. I showed them the revised TSB showing that my VIN was prior to the new pump. The look on their faces was priceless. They acted like they've never even seen a TSB before. They were like, "what is that?". Then they proceeded to tell me that this would cover my car if I had chirping, but my car is chirp free. I said that I'd be happy to make a video showing my VIN and demonstrating the very loud chirping. The lead tech said, "that won't help you. Unless I hear it then we won't order the part."

I said, "I'm not asking for a fuel pump just for no reason. There's a TSB stating that vehicles prior to the VIN listed are under warranty for a replacement. Order the part like this paper tells you to."

They are ordering the new fuel pump and will let me know when it arrives. Geez, shouldn't have to be such a fight to get something taken care of that's under warranty!!

UPDATE: They actually have all the parts in stock. They are going to hold everything to the side until I come back to have the fuel pump replaced. Because of work I won't be available again until Jan 30th...so guess I just gotta wait. I'll update if anything else comes up. Part of me a little hesitant to believe they have a new revised pump in stock. I sorta feel like they're stupid enough to just replace it with an old pump they have sitting there instead of ordering a new part.

ANOTHER UPDATE: Decided to cross check park numbers and the fuel pump assembly did not match the revised part number. They were going to put an old pump in there! Thanks God I checked part numbers before leaving. The parts dept is calling Subaru HQ now because they don't believe the TSB I handed them. They told me, "you can't believe everything you read off the Internet." I replied, "It's officially from Subaru. It's not just a form a random person made." So they have to call Subaru HQ to make sure this TSB is legit.

Also, right when I went out to my car and started it the chirping was loud as ever. I thought about getting that stupid lead tech out so he can hear the chirps, but at this point they're already trying to fix it...so no need for me to take steps backwards and go back to proving the issue...although I might just to show him that he's an idiot.

Update (hopefully last): Parts manager wasn't able to get a hold of Subaru HQ, so he said just go ahead and order me the new part (16625JB010). Finally I feel like I'm getting somewhere...

ANOTHER DAMN UPDATE: They told me the ordered the new pump and everything was good to go. I asked for a printed copy showing the revised part number and now all of a sudden my order was accidentally closed. Sooo...they're placing a new order for the new revised parts and getting me a printed receipt showing exact matching part numbers. Idiots. Sooo glad I didn't just leave without paperwork showing the new part number. I can already imagine coming back and them acting like "well the paper shows this old pump part number...blah blah blah".

Hope someone else reading this learns what to expect when you take your car in.
