There's a ton of fun roads around Huntington/Cold Spring Harbor that are also less populated. Driving to Lloyd Harbor is great and scenic with a great spot to pull over for photo ops by the water (just be warned there is a police station along the way that sometimes has cops sitting near by, though it's mostly straight at that point).
