Well, Vincenttam, I really don't have any insight as to what is ailing society.
It sounds like you have been through some rough times but now you are on your way to better times......
There always have been low lifes out there and there probably always will be.
I reckon the best we can do is to protect our loved ones and possessions the best we can and get on with enjoying our lives.
